Hire terms
Draft terms for freeze dryer hire. Not yet in force.
1. Pre-launch
FreezeDry Hire isn't taking bookings or payments yet. Joining the waitlist or sending an enquiry doesn't create a hire agreement.
2. Hire period
The minimum hire period is 1 week for the Small, Medium and Large models, and 2 weeks for the XL, starting on the delivery or collection date. [Extension, early return and late return terms to be confirmed.]
3. Charges and deposit
Hire charges, the refundable deposit and delivery and collection fees will be confirmed in writing before booking. Indicative pre-launch deposits are: Small €1,750; Medium €2,000; Large €2,500; XL €4,000. The deposit is held against damage and returned after collection and inspection, less any deductions under section 6. [Deposit timing, method and holding terms to be confirmed.]
4. Delivery, setup and collection
We deliver to and collect from the address you give us, or you may collect and return the machine yourself with a handover checklist. At delivery (or collection) and again at return, we take a photo checklist of the machine's condition. You must give reasonable access and have a suitable location ready: the machine must be on a dedicated 230V circuit with no extension leads, in a clean, ventilated room between 2°C and 35°C.
5. Your responsibilities
- Use the machine only as instructed and at the agreed address
- Don't move, open up, modify or repair the machine
- Keep it clean and return it clean and dry
- Tell us about any fault or damage straight away
- Provide a dedicated wall socket with no extension leads, and a suitable room as above
6. Damage and liability
You're responsible for loss of or damage to the machine during the hire, other than normal wear and tear or manufacturing faults not caused by you. This includes damage from misuse, moving or transporting it, improper setup, poor ventilation, unsuitable power or extension leads, modifications, and consumable wear beyond normal use (such as gaskets, filters and oil). Any damage caused during the hire or at your premises is your responsibility and may be deducted from your deposit or charged to you. [Liability caps and exclusions to be confirmed.]
7. Breakdowns and warranty
Our machines carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty for manufacturing defects under normal use. Covered faults are diagnosed and parts are replaced. The warranty does not cover damage from moving or transport, improper setup, poor ventilation, misuse, unsuitable power or extension leads, modifications, normal wear and tear, consumables (gaskets, filters, oil), or lost or spoiled food. If a covered fault appears during the hire, contact us straight away and we'll arrange troubleshooting, a repair or a replacement. [Remedies, including any credit for time without the machine, to be confirmed.]
8. Food safety
You're responsible for the food you prepare and how you use it. If you sell food, you must meet FSAI and other food business requirements.
9. Cancellations
[Cancellation and cooling-off terms under Irish consumer law to be confirmed.]
