How hire works

From delivery to collection, here's what to expect and what you'll need at home.

Enquire & confirm

Join the waitlist with your choice of our four models (Small, Medium, Large or XL), preferred start date and county. When hire opens, we'll confirm availability, pricing and a delivery date with you.

Delivery & setup

Join the waitlist, and once we're up and running, we'll deliver and set up your freeze dryer. We deliver from Dublin to anywhere in Ireland, place the machine where you want it, check your setup against a photo checklist and show you how to run a batch. You can also collect and return the machine yourself.

Use it for as long as you need

The machine is yours to use for as long as you need it.

Collection whenever suits you

When you're ready, we arrange a collection time that suits you. You clean and dry the trays and chamber, we pick up the machine, and once it's checked, your deposit is returned.

What you'll need at home

Please check these before you book. Most problems with freeze dryers come from where and how they're set up.

We carry the machine in, put it in place and check the setup with you. A utility room with a wall socket close by is ideal.

Its own socket

A dedicated 230V wall socket (its own circuit), not shared with other heavy appliances. No extension leads or multi-plug adapters.

A clean, ventilated room between 2 and 35°C

The machine gives off heat and the pump needs air around it. A utility room, kitchen or dry garage or outbuilding works well if it stays between 2 and 35°C.

A sturdy, level surface

The Small weighs about 41 kg and the Medium about 54 kg, plus the pump. You'll need a solid counter, shelf or cart with space around it for airflow.

Careful handling

Please don't move the machine yourself during the hire. Keep the door seal clean and follow the quick-start guide.

Damage & liability

You're responsible for the machine while it's in your care. Damage caused by misuse, by moving it, by a poor setup or poor ventilation, or by anything other than normal use may be deducted from your deposit or charged to you. If a fault isn't your doing, tell us straight away and we'll sort out a fix or a replacement.

Full terms are in our draft hire terms.
